Lara Marie Urschel

A thoughtful, community-minded leader whose initiative, empathy, and commitment to student participation left a lasting impact on AvH.

As Student President, Lara helped rebuild AvH’s student representation system so students from every class could participate, share their perspectives, and help shape school life. Her work made leadership more inclusive—and gave others the confidence to act.

Leadership is not simply speaking for others. It is creating the conditions for more people to take part.

As the first recipient of the Lecchino Leadership & Community Service Award, Lara opens a record that will grow year by year: an archive of initiative, care, and meaningful change led by AvH students.
