The Founders

Two paths. One promise to give back.

Michael and Vanda are siblings, quadrilingual AvH alumni, and lifelong believers in the power of education, community, and showing up for others.

Returning to where the story began

Gratitude became a commitment.

The award grew from a shared desire to recognize the kind of leadership that had shaped their own school years: curious, generous, multilingual, and firmly rooted in service.

Leading through care, consistency, and action.

Vanda studied international business at the University of Ottawa and Concordia University. A municipal public servant, camp supervisor, ski instructor, badminton coach, and community volunteer, she has spent years helping young people learn, move, and grow.

Her service was recognized with the Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Medal and reflects a practical, people-centred approach to leadership.

The shared promise

Keep the circle moving.

Giving back can take many forms—a scholarship, time, mentorship, an introduction, a shared lesson, or simply being present.
